タイトル Novel Three-Dimensional Views of Magnetic Interstellar Clouds

概要

Polarimetry observations over the past decade have revealed that magnetic fields play critical roles in the formation of interstellar clouds and stars. Despite their importance, observing these magnetic fields, particularly in 3D, remains significantly challenging. In this talk, I will briefly discuss how we overcame these challenges in determining the 3D magnetic field vectors associated with giant molecular clouds. Our findings have enabled us to propose step-by-step scenarios explaining the formation of these clouds, revealing previously undiscovered interstellar structures. These 3D studies provide novel constraints on theories for the formation and evolution of star-forming clouds, advancing our understanding of the role of magnetic fields in star formation.
