 \nA decade of gravitational-wave astronomy in the multi-messenger era: Fro
 m detections to demographics\, and future directions\n\nAbstract:\nIt has 
 been ten years since the first direct detection of gravitational waves ope
 ned an entirely new window onto the universe. Over the past decade\, obser
 vations of compact binary mergers have not only revealed the astrophysical
  population of black holes and neutron stars\, but also—through joint gr
 avitational-wave and electromagnetic detections—offered transformative i
 nsights into nucleosynthesis\, astrophysical transients\, and cosmology. T
 he recently released fourth Gravitational-Wave Transient Catalog (GWTC-4) 
 has nearly doubled the number of confidently detected signals\, providing 
 unprecedented statistical power to probe compact-object demographics.  In
  this talk\, I will review the contents of GWTC-4 and summarize recent fin
 dings from current population studies as well as their current limitations
  . I will also highlight the lack of joint detection of electromagnetic co
 unterparts since the discovery of GW170817. Looking forward\, I introduce 
 new approaches that leverages information from the detection pipeline to e
 xtract additional insights into each of the problems. \nFinally\, I will 
 discuss the prospects for gravitational-wave astronomy and its role in the
  next phase of multi-messenger astrophysics\, as expanding catalogs\, impr
 oved detectors\, and innovative analysis strategies promise to further dee
 pen our understanding of compact objects and the gravitational-wave univer
