ical Physics and Wormholes in AdS/CFT: Strong-to-Weak Spontaneous Symmetry
Breaking and AdS Wormholes\n概要：\nRecently\, the notion of symmetry
has been extended to mixed states. In particular\, mixed-state symmetries
can be classified into two types: strong symmetries\, which act on individ
ual pure states\, and weak symmetries\, which emerge only after averaging
over states. Interestingly\, strong symmetries can sometimes be spontaneou
sly broken down to weak symmetries. This structure provides a powerful too
l for understanding nonequilibrium phase transitions and hydrodynamics.\n
Independently\, over the past decades\, wormholes have played an essenti
al role in quantum gravity\, especially in developing a complete understan
ding of the gravitational path integral. For example\, they have been prop
osed as a possible resolution of the black hole information paradox. Howev
er\, we still lack a complete and concrete understanding of such wormholes
\, especially in higher dimensions\, since they often appear as off-shell
contributions or non-perturbative corrections.\n In this talk\, we explai
n how statistical physics provides a useful tool for understanding wormhol
e physics in a concrete manner. We discuss the holographic implications of
strong-to-weak symmetry breaking. In particular\, we show that this pheno
menon is closely related to the appearance of wormholes in AdS. We demonst
rate this connection in a simple setup consisting of AdS gravity coupled t
 o a U(1) Chern–Simons theory\, and discuss that the strong-symmetry-brok
en phase is described by wormholes that are not solutions of the Einstein
equations with the correct boundary conditions.\n This talk are mainly ba
sed on upcoming work with Masahito Yamazaki(U. Tokyo) and Kenya Tasuki (YI
 TP) and related on-going argument.\n\nhttps://indico.nitep.osaka-cu.ac.jp/
