Lunch
One bag lunch per person will be served for the first coffee break. Without eating it, you can use restaurants and stores for your lunch:
- 野のはなハウス (Restaurant "Nonohana House"), 1st floor of Media Center ([11] of Campus map)
- 南食堂 (Minami Shokudo; South Cafeteria), Second Student Hall ([22] of Campus map)
- 北食堂 (Kita Shokudo; North Cafeteria), Main Student Hall ([21] of Campus map)
*The North Cafeteria is often crowded, so the South Cafeteria is recommended. - 和食堂めたせこいあ (Japanese Restaurant "Metasequoia"), Tanaka Memorial Hall ([8] of Campus map)
- Other restaurants and convenience stores are located in westside of Campus map.

Excursion on Wednesday 8th
With regard to excursion to Kyoto on Wednesday 8th, which we plan but by no means is compulsory,
we would like to use Kyoto hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus to organize a loosely bound tour that provides you a lot of choices to hop-on and hop-off more than ten paces, keeping fixed just JR Kyoto station as a starting point sometime in the morning.
Bus fare is 3500 yen with 10% discount by credit card advanced purchase: just press purchase button on the top-left corner.
While maple leaves are not quite turning red yet, this is already a high season and we are afraid that the tickets will be sold out in a few days: we ask all of you interested to purchase your tickets as soon as possible. Some of us will be with you on your travel and would like to enjoy both scientific and nonscientific conversation.
We ask you to kindly let us know when you decide and have purchased your ticket.
Our plan:
- We meet at the East entrance/exit (NOT the main exit in the West) of JR Tennnouji station between 8:50-9:00 am.
- Please prepare your JR ticket (normal one) to Kyoto at the nearby ticketing machine in advance.
- We plan to take the express at platform 17 to go to JR Osaka station.
- Also, please have with you your Hopon-hopoff ticket purchased either as a printout or in your smartphone or something
- We plan to take the hoponhopoff bus at the Kyoto-Karasuma entrance on 10:50
- The number of participants is about 7, including two from LOC, who will assist you.
